Plymouth Community United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income, and health: the building blocks for a good life. But we can't do it alone. We need the heads, hands, and hearts of committed people like you to help us tackle the problems facing our communites. Your ideas for projects are welcome.

Give an hour. Give a Saturday. Give your best.

When we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.  Give the gift of you. Volunteer.

Upcoming Volunteer Events

1. CAMPAIGN SUPPORT
It is time to start our 2011 campaign. We try to reach out to all the community residents, companies, and agencies with a letter from our Campaign Chairperson. This means thousands of letters need to be folded and mailed in different phases. The first phase is mailed in early August. Please consider helping PCUW with our campaign mailing. It is rewarding to know that you have assisted in raising funds to support our community during tough economic times, and don't forget to send in your donation when you get our letter!

2. MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY
Make a Difference Day is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 2011. In the fall of 2010, over 260 volunteers assisted senior citizens in the Plymouth/Canton community with their fall yard work. Volunteers help to clean yards, flower beds, rake leaves, clean gutters, and do outdoor clean-up for the senior citizens in the Plymouth/Canton area.

3. HATS FOR THE HOMELESS CAMPAIGN
We need volunteers to run a Hats for the Homeless campaign at your place of business, church, organization, school, neighborhood or just on your own. Collect, make or donate NEW hats to the Plymouth Community United Way during the months of October & November to help the needy in the Plymouth/Canton area. We will also accept new gloves, mittens, and scarves for all sizes and genders. PCUW is here to help with your campaign and process.

4. FOOD DRIVE
Please consider a food/toiletry drive at your workplace, service club, church or other organization. Plymouth Community United Way is here to assist you. We can help you get started. We will answer any questions you have regarding items that are needed and delivery of the items you collect. The demand is greater than we’ve seen in many years. Food banks are calling on PCUW to assist with this crisis. Together we can make a difference.

Please contact Sally at the PCUW office if you would like to volunteer for any of these projects.
