Message from PCUW 2009 Campaign Chairman Greg Meyer
Hello, I’m Greg Meyer, Wayne Area Manager for Consumers Energy and the 2009 Plymouth Community United Way (PCUW) Campaign Chairman. I am pleased to be working with the talented and dedicated individuals that make up the staff of the PCUW. They are making a big difference in the lives of many individuals in our community.
The national and local issues make it difficult to remain positive in today’s world. We can be overwhelmed with negative stories of layoffs, unemployment, foreclosures, health care and taxes.
Let’s take a moment to catch our breath and forget about all the national negativity. Let’s just focus locally. We all know someone, whether it is a family member or friend that has suffered the consequences of this economic downturn, such as job loss, foreclosure or lack of health insurance.
We need to ask ourselves "What can we do?". One answer is to focus locally on positive efforts that will help our own community. We should make an effort to support our local businesses and charitable organizations. This includes donating to the PCUW.
It is important to know that your contribution is not only a donation, but an investment in your community. Many enduring these hard times benefit from the assistance they are given from the PCUW. Your support is crucial to this year’s campaign success.
Let’s focus locally and make a commitment to the improvement of our community through our contribution to the PCUW and LIVE UNITED.
