Plymouth Whalers Food Drive - November 28, 2009
The Plymouth Whalers hockey team, in coordination with the Plymouth Community United Way, is sponsoring a Food Drive on Saturday, November 28, 2009 before the game against Kingston at Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township.
Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items, paper or toiletry products to the game. A voucher for a discount on a future Whalers admission ticket will be given to those who donate.
Plymouth United Way Teddy Bear Toss - December 5, 2009
The Plymouth Whalers are once again sponsoring this year's 10th annual Teddy
Bear Toss during the Saturday, December 5th game against Sault Saint Marie at Compuware
Arena in Plymouth Township.
Fans are asked to bring a Teddy Bear to throw on the ice when the Whalers
score their first goal. It's a game you won't want to miss as hundreds of
stuffed bears are tossed on the ice within seconds of the Whalers initial
score.
Over the previous nine years, the Teddy Bear Toss has resulted in thousands
of Teddy Bears being collected and donated to organizations like the
Children Charities. The bears are used to comfort children at disaster scenes and during times of crisis.
